Help send Medical Supplies to The Gambia

The Smiling Coast Foundation partners with Big Dreams Inc. to raise $15,000 needed to match an anonymous US-based donor, to ship the first in a series of 40 ft. containers of essential medical supplies, biomed equipment and medicine to targeted hospitals and clinics in the Gambia.

The Gambia is the smallest country in Africa with 2 million in its population. Its borders are all coastal, with the ocean on one side and the River Gambia on the others. The poverty rate in rural areas of the Gambia is about 70% and about 32% in the urban areas. These resource-strapped communities have little to no access to proper healthcare. COVID exacerbating the situation, especially economically. This on an economy which relies primarily on tourism which stopped during COVID and was working to be rebuilt, when in 2022, because of continual rains, caused by the rapid impact of global warming, the country suffered from severe flooding, loss of homes and livelihood. During this time, the need for resources in the areas of food, healthcare, clean water and housing increased dramatically.

With over 15 years of combined experience in humanitarian aid to the Gambia, The Smiling Coast Foundation and Big Dreams Inc, have joined forces under the guidance US-based NGO, The Praise House Project Inc. and its International Health, Development & Fundraising Advisor to ship these essential medical supplies to those areas most in need.
